Why a forum is on this list

How to read it critically

Check the date. This is the big one. Guides retire, companies are sold, and museums change their rules — the Louvre’s late opening and its admission structure have both changed recently. A 2018 thread may be describing a world that no longer exists.

Note the audience. Forum regulars skew towards independent travellers happy to pay for a good guide. Budget options are under-discussed relative to how many people use them, so an absence of praise is not evidence of a bad tour.

Weight repetition, not enthusiasm. One glowing post is one person’s afternoon. The same operator recommended by different people across several years is a pattern.
